Technical Marketing Executive
The company
Rahu Catalytics (“RahuCat”) is a spin-out company from Unilever that develops oxidation catalysts for a variety of industrial applications.
The company has its headquarters in Nottingham (UK) and its main technical centre in Leiden (The Netherlands). RahuCat targets different industrial applications to achieve energy, water and waste-cost reductions, using highly active but environmentally benign manganese and iron catalysts. RahuCat works in partnership with leading players in various markets to develop applications in areas such as cellulosic treatment, paint/ink drying, industrial cleaning/detergents and chemical synthesis.
The job opportunity
RahuCat is looking for a Technical Marketing Executive, to be located preferably in our Head Office, Nottingham UK, though the Technical Centre at Leiden may be an option. The primary responsibilities of this role is the identification, investigation, analysis of and reporting on existing, new and developing markets for RahuCat products and services. To assist and support in the identification of technical solutions applicable to business opportunities and to assist in the process of technical and commercial validation with customers for RahuCat products and services.
Key tasks and primary accountabilities
- Market research and analysis on catalyst market applications in target segments, to include technical and commercial considerations, to include market size, key purchasing criteria, elements of competitive advantage.
- Development of market mapping tools, identifying key players at each interface, supply chain definition and channel-to-market options. Analysis of key competitors and their respective strengths and weaknesses.
- Analysis of competing technologies and potential market risks associated with RahuCat current revenue markets.
- Provision of support to the Business Development Team in the preparation of market data, (technical) competitive analysis and, where appropriate, marketing collateral to accelerate sales growth.
Candidate Requirements
- Education – BSc or MSc in the field of Chemistry,Chemical Engineering, BioChemistry or Natural Sciences
- Experience - 1 – 2 years industry based technical or commercial
- Linguistic - Fluent in at least two languages, though excellent oral and written English communication skills are a must
- Computer skills - Windows software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc
- Other - Strong interpersonal skills and presentational abilities. Good appreciation of project timelines, deadlines, commercial applicability and analysis.
