Rahu Catalytics Limited (“RahuCat”) is a Venture Capital backed, technology spin-out from Unilever that develops oxidation catalysts for a variety of industrial applications. RahuCat has developed a range of specialty chemical products that provide clean technology solutions, helping industry in both the developed and developing economies to reduce operating costs and meet current and future legislation.

With its headquarters in Nottingham ( UK) and technical centres in the Netherlands and China, RahuCat has global reach; the skills to tailor its catalyst solutions to a broad range of industrial applications; and, the resources to provide technical support to its customers in the development and roll-out of the technology.

The job opportunity

RahuCat is looking for an Operations Manager, to be located at its headquarters in Nottingham (UK). Reporting to the Finance & Operations Director, the primary responsibility of this role is the management and development of RahuCat’s out-sourced manufacturing and related activities. RahuCat works with a number of CMO’s and manufacturing partners in China, India and Europe, undertaking licensed manufacturing as well as product and process development. The RahuCat Operations Manager will assume responsibility for:

Key tasks and primary accountabilities

  • Manufacturing (operational and contract management of CMO’s and out-sourced manufacturing)
  • Driving process improvement and cost efficiencies
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Operational Planning
  • Quality Assurance
  • Product Stewardship ( technical data, health & safety data - MSDS/PDS’s etc)
  • Regulatory Affairs (registration and notification of chemical products under REACH, TSCA etc)
  • Technology Transfer (working closely with the R&D team in the transfer/ scale-up of new products and processes)

Candidate Requirements

  • Education to degree level in related/relevant fields (e.g. Chemistry/ Chem Eng, Manufacturing/Engineering)
  • Functional experience via roles in operations, technology transfer, new product introduction or supply chain management, with experience of dealing with contract/out-sourced manufacturers
  • Extensive knowledge of quality assurance systems and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Sector experience desirable ( specialty /fine chemicals, pharma/API etc)
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Positive , team oriented approach - ability to gain credibility with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Manufacturing & Inventory Control, QA systems)
