Catalytic Convertors for Waste

WRc has recently completed a market survey for a company that has developed a range of catalytic oxidisers. These remarkable chemicals are able to breakdown otherwise recalcitrant organics and to increase the rate of breakdown of less problematical contaminants. The catalysts were developed for a specialist application where they have been very successful. The client, Rahu Catalytics, was looking to expand its market and needed to have a view of the wastewater sector, both in terms of its structure and governance, and most likely applications for the catalysts.

WRc provided the client with a comprehensive overview of the wastewater industry, both in the UK and in targeted overseas markets. This provided the client with a sound basis for understanding how to approach what is a complex and varied mix of public and private ownership and operation.

WRc also used its in-depth knowledge of wastewater treatment processes to develop a value map that identified where marketing activity might be best targeted. The results indicated that small volume high strength wastes were the most likely candidates, with a number of other opportunities that might be considered. The ability to use with existing physical assets makes the value proposition more powerful.
