Rahu Catalytics shortlisted for
ICIS Innovation Awards 2009.
Rahu Catalytics’ Novel Paint Drying Technology has been selected by the judges to go forward to the final round of judging on 24 August in the category for Best Innovation by an SME.
Launched earlier this year in partnership with global licence partner OM Group, Rahu’s iron based FeONIX technology provides significant technical performance benefits including very low dose, low colour shift and improved loss of dry across a broader range of applications in alkyd systems, including in adverse conditions such as high humidity or low temperature.
Since its formal launch at the European Coatings Show at Nuremberg in March 2009, customer adoption has been high and commercial use of this technology in European paint formulations is expected to start before the end of this year, ideally timed to address growing market concerns and likely re-classification of cobalt compounds in the future.
Fingers crossed for 24th August!
