Products
RahuCat is working continuously on increasing its product portfolio to accommodate new chemistry and processes in support of market growth. Current products in the Dragon and FeONIX ranges are detailed below.
Dragon range
The most well known platform consists of manganese N, N’, N’’-trimethyl-1, 4, 7-triazacyclononane complexes and is available either as a liquid, a 3.5% solution of acetate-salt (Dragon A350), or as a powder, 80% + active sulphate-salt.
These complexes demonstrate a strong activation of hydrogen peroxide, leading to high performance at significantly reduced temperatures and shorter reaction times for a variety of oxidation and bleaching processes.
FeONIX range
This group contains iron complexes which differ by the functional group attached to the central ligand.
Complexes can be used in a variety of solvents (hydrophilic to hydrophobic) to activate (alkyl)hydroperoxides. They also induce radical chain reactions wherein dioxygen is involved (curing of coatings and inks).
Where We Operate
RahuCat’s oxidation catalysts, based on either a manganese complex (Dragon) or an iron complex (FeONIX), can be used in a variety of industrial applications. Dragon is used in combination with hydrogen peroxide for bleaching cotton (textiles) and pulp-fibre (paper-making), the removal of unwanted (toxic) components (waste effluent treatment) and stains (industrial & institutional cleaning). In fact, RahuCat’s systems can be employed almost anywhere you require effective oxidation reactions, including organic synthesis e.g. epoxidation.
The OM group, Inc. (OMG) has acquired the rights
to use RahuCat’s FeONIX oxidation catalysts as
driers in coatings and inks, and as polymerisation
additives for composites. The FeONIX range can
be more widely applied, however, as a
polymerisation catalyst.
